message on the war

Everyday you hear about the Iraq war in the news, people are being killed, families being destroyed, the countries at war. so much destruction and fighting I always wonder what are the purposes of war? what are its goals? It seems like war is never between people but always between nations, it like the people in our government never considers us when they go into to war they just make the decision and here we are war is created. Everyday were spending Billions on the war and its having a major effect on our economy, if it doesn't make the situation worst president Bush just asked congress for another 100 billion dollars to help the war efforts in Iraq, he just might get his wish since the democrats don't want to send a message to the soldiers that they're abandoning them because they don't want to fund this expensive war any more. I guess when your in the position of power that somethings your going to have to consider. When or when not to stop a war that has gone very bad? The war is expensive and pretty soon with the billions of dollars their spending everyday people in America will being to lose their jobs because there is little to no money in the economy left to create employment. So my question to the readers are what do you think about the war and what do you think about losing jobs because of the war? what do you think about not being able to find work in America if the war continues?

Man does not live on bread along

"Man does not live by bread alone. I have known millionaires starving for lack of the nutriment which alone can sustain all that is human in man, and I know workmen, and many so-called poor men, who revel in luxuries beyond the power of those millionaires to reach. It is the mind that makes the body rich. There is no class so pitiably wretched as that which possesses money and nothing else. Money can only be the useful drudge of things immeasurably higher than itself. Exalted beyond this, as it sometimes is, it remains Caliban still and still plays the beast. My aspirations take a higher flight. Mine be it to have contributed to the enlightenment and the joys of the mind, to the things of the spirit, to all that tends to bring into the lives of the toilers of Pittsburgh sweetness and light. I hold this the noblest possible

This quote was taken by the famous Andrew Carnegie, who was of the gilded ages and who was also considered to be the richest man in the world during his time. His main focus was on his steel company, but he was also known for building libraries for the public. He made it imperative, that man and women of rich fortunes make their contributions by helping their fellow man (mainly the citizens of the poor and working class). He believed that prosperity came when a man was willing to help himself, to work hard to create his own liberty and fortune. Carnegie believed that if the rich put their resources into helping man help himself it would be a benefit to the nation as a whole. I believe that Carnegie had the right approach, in that giving handouts are never good. Encouraging people to work hard in the turn for one’s own prosperity is not only good for the person working, but for the nation that the man happens to live in. If the rich want to give back to the nation that allowed him to prosper in a meaningful way the advice given from Carnegie to help a man to fish for himself is a unique approach.

Do My Senses Deceive Me?

Sense is a utility needed by all people. It is a utility that gives our mind thought and idea. It is a function that gives all humans a concrete visual of the world. But bringing up a personal thought, I ask myself is there a Fallacy within the system of the senses? Do my senses deceive me? Is what I see real? Or are my eyes just telling the brain what it wants me to see? Are the objects that I touch real? Are the voices and the sounds I hear authentic? Or is it just the ears deceiving the brain to what it wants me to hear? Are the smells of the beautiful flower genuine or is it just the nose trying to remind me what the smell of eloquence is? Maybe I should look into this concept, this fallacy of the sense. A little bit of metaphysics may give us the answer? I certainly believe humans need to look deeper to find a real solution?
Are my senses really the best to use when it comes to finding the truth about the world or its civilization? Or do my senses fail in these areas?
The average man, I ask these same questions to but he cannot give me a reasonable answer. Instead, it raises the same thought in his mind.
The sun, which rises everyday in the sky, could be bigger then what I imagine it to be. The very site that I see is evidence presented from my vision. I must say all the thoughts that I can sense can be a great fallacy, but still rely on my senses very heavily. I can’t even imagine the things beyond me not being real.
Maybe this is the cause for why there are so many difficulties between humans in this world. How could they possibly know if what they’re looking at is actually real? Maybe these are the reasons why men are blind, confused, ignorant and arrogant of the concepts of his world?
Unfortunately this utility of the sense may never be understood. As for now my senses are all that have to rely on.
